Gnocchi with Arrabiata Sauce

These savory Gnocchi with Arrabiata Sauce taste wonderfully fruity, savory and spicy. The recipe is vegan, gluten free and can be made super easy in less than 20 minutes!


500 g of gnocchi
750 g of chopped tomatoes
1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 tsp pepper
1 heaped tsp sugar
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes
1 tsp Italian spice mixture
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 bay leaf (optional)
A shot of red wine (optional)
Fresh herbs for garnish
Vegan cheese

Gnocchi with Arrabiata Sauce


Heat the olive oil in a pan and add the chopped onion. Sauté for 3 minutes, garlic and spices and stir. Next, add the chopped tomatoes and bring to a boil. Place the bay leaf in the sauce (optional), add the tomato puree and the red wine (optional) and simmer the sauce over low heat for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
In the meantime, prepare the gnocchi according to the package instructions. Try the sauce and if necessary adjust the spices as needed. Give the sauce over the gnocchi and enjoy! Optionally you can add vegan cheese. I used my vegan cheese sauce.
